Which machine each job needs
Find your job in the list: next to it is the machine that does it and why that one. Where two or three machines are listed, they work one after another.
| Job | Machine | Why this one |
|---|---|---|
| Digging | ||
| The pit for a house, with or without a basement | Excavator, with the tipper beside it | All you see on the plot is the pit and a loaded truck pulling away: the soil goes from bucket to body. |
| A water pipe or cable to be laid underground | Backhoe loader | One machine from the first metre of the trench to the last: it digs with the rear arm and, once the pipe is in, closes the trench with the front bucket. |
| A manhole, a pit for a tank, a short ditch | Backhoe loader | Small digs are done by the same machine, between its other jobs on the plot. |
| Moving and levelling soil | ||
| Uneven ground with mounds and holes | Backhoe loader | The front bucket pushes soil off the mounds into the holes until the ground is flat. |
| A heap of soil or rubble to load | Backhoe loader and tipper | It scoops the heap with the front bucket and tips it into the truck, load after load. |
| Soil put back around the foundations | Backhoe loader | It pulls back the soil left at the edge of the pit once the foundations are poured and waterproofed. |
| Compacted bases | ||
| A crushed stone base under parking, a path or a hard standing | Tipper, backhoe loader, roller | The stone lands from the tipper in heaps. The backhoe loader spreads it with the front bucket, then the roller goes over each layer. |
| A new road up to the plot or the garage | Backhoe loader, tipper, roller | The backhoe loader strips the soft ground, cuts the bed and spreads the stone the tipper brings; the roller compacts it last. |
| What comes onto the plot and what leaves | ||
| Soil from the pit | Tipper | It takes up to 20 tonnes at a time and hauls the soil off the plot. |
| Material for a base or backfill | Tipper | We sell the material ourselves and tip it as close as we can to where it goes. |
| Getting the machine to the job | Low loader | That is how the excavator, backhoe loader or roller reaches your plot, whichever district it is in. |
When one, when the other
Some jobs suit two machines. The choice depends on the size of the job and on what comes after it.
Backhoe loader or excavator?
The backhoe loader, when the plot has several small jobs: a trench, a heap to load, a corner to level. It drives on its wheels from one to the next without leaving the plot.
orThe excavator, when there is one big, deep dig, such as a house with a basement. It stays put and fills the tipper bucket by bucket.
Just levelled, or rolled as well?
Levelling with the backhoe loader is enough where lawn, garden or vegetable beds will go.
orThe roller comes wherever wheels will run or paving will be laid: parking, paths, the access road, the hard standing by a warehouse.
One machine or two at once?
One, when the job is done in a single go: the trench dug and filled, the yard levelled.
orTwo or three, when one works for another: the excavator fills the tipper, and on a base the backhoe loader spreads what the tipper brings so the roller can go over it.
Three things that decide the machine
When you call, we care less about the machine’s name than about the job. Three answers tell us what to send.

How big the dig is
A trench for a pipe and the pit for a house with a basement need different machines. Tell us roughly how many metres long, wide and deep it is; if you have drawings, the figures are in them.
Where the soil goes
Does the soil stay for backfill or leave? If it stays, the digging machine is enough; if it leaves, it loads straight into the tipper.
What will stand on top
Grass, a footpath or parking for cars. The heavier the load that will cross the ground, the more stone and roller passes the base needs.
Machines go to the city and to every district
The low loader sets off from Chișinău with the machine the job needs and leaves it where your plot is.
Chișinău
Botanica, Buiucani, Centru, Ciocana, Râșcani.
Across the country
Ghindești, Bardar, Bulboaca and Copceac are only examples: the machines go to any town or village in Moldova.
Questions about construction machines
What does it cost to order a construction machine for my job?
Three things set it: the job, how big it is and the town or village. Once you describe them, we pick the machine and give you the figure before any day is booked.
I don’t know which machine I need. Who chooses?
We choose together once you describe the job. The list above is a start; on the phone we ask about the size of the dig, the soil and what will stand on top.
Can the backhoe loader dig the pit for a house?
A small pit, yes. For a house with a basement we send the excavator, which digs deeper and takes more soil per bucket, and keep the backhoe loader for trenches, loading and levelling.
What if another job turns up that needs a different machine?
Call the same number. If the machine already on your plot can do it, it does; if the job needs another one, the low loader brings it.
Can the stone and sand for the base come from you as well?
Yes. Most bases are sand and gravel mix underneath with crushed stone or crushed granite on top, and we sell both, along with gravel, quarry stone and washed sand. Give us the length and width of the base and we work out the amount together.
Do you work far from Chișinău?
Yes, the low loader takes the machines to any district, from Ghindești in the north to Copceac in the south. Tell us the place when you call.
Got a job but not sure which machine it needs? Tell us what has to be done.
Describe the job; we pick the machine and the low loader brings it to your plot.
